McDonald's is set to make a major change to its menu from next week - and it is good news for those who have been longing for a chicken burger. The fast-food giant has announced it will be adding the McCrispy to the menu from Wednesday, October 19, and it is not a trial or a limited-edition item either.

Its arrival onto menus will make it the first permanent chicken burger that the Golden Arches has added to its menus for the first time in a whopping 15 years.Made with a 100% crispy chicken breast marinated in black pepper and cayenne, the burger is then topped with classic McDonald's mayonnaise with an extra dose of cracked black pepper.

The entire thing is then served up in a 4” artisan glazed bun with a sweet nutty toasted flavour. The chain has also added that their self-confessed "game-changing" burger is for those customers who "crave a crispier, crunchier chicken burger."Priced at £6.49 for an Extra-Value meal, the launch of the new burger comes after McDonald's successfully trialled a 'Crispy McFillet' back in March this year to a range of branches across the Midwest and Ireland.

The food chain has claimed that the trial was "their most successful yet", with many of its customers rating the taste of the new burger higher than some of its competitors.
