Many have attempted to recreate their favourite restaurant dishes at home, often falling short of the mark. But for fans of McDonald's, there's good news - a food whizz claims he's cracked the code to the fast-food chain's coveted Sweet Curry Dip.
Max (@MealsWithMax), with a TikTok following of over two million, posted a detailed video guide on his "hack", promising a quick and easy replication. "Craving that McDonald's curry sauce?" he inquired. "Well let me show you how to make it at home with just a few simple ingredients." He began the process by making the sauce "base", starting with 120g of tomato ketchup into a saucepan.
Max then incorporated a tablespoon each of curry powder, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and honey, followed by half a teaspoon of garlic powder. "Give it a good whisk," he suggested, before instructing: "We're then going to bring it to a light simmer on the stove." Adding 100ml of water to the mixture, Max brought it back to a simmer for another five minutes. "Now we want to thicken it," he continued. "So I'm adding one tablespoon of flour [to a glass] and a few teaspoons of water and we're going to mix this together to form a paste." After blending the ingredients into a smooth paste and removing it from the heat, he then returned the mix to the stove to thicken. "It should only take a few minutes," he said. "And that's our curry dipping sauce now done.
Thick, delicious and perfect for dipping." Max's cooking prowess quickly earned him plaudits on TikTok. One admirer gushed: "You need a cooking show on a kids channel!
