McDonald's apologies after customers were stopped from ordering food

McDonald's says it has now 'resolved' the IT shortage which stopped customers from ordering food. On Friday morning (March 15), customers in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan, said they experienced issues buying food from the fast food giant.

The company confirmed that its restaurants were affected by a "technology outage" which reportedly affected the ability to order through the McDonald's app.

In Japan, it is understood operations across 3,000 locations were halted due to the disruption while 160 New Zealand locations reported being unable to process orders properly.
