But Matty Peet pondered for some time who had impressed him most in the early knockings of Wigan Warriors' pre-season preparations.

Eventually, he came up with an answer, one many would not suspect. He could have easily mentioned any of the new signings or a young star that has shown remarkable progress since reporting back for training.

He could have mentioned any of the seasoned pros who are constantly at the front of the pile. Instead, the new Wigan boss didn't even mention a player.
