Matt Damon Debuts New Tattoo Tribute to His Dad, Gives His Artist a Tattoo (Video)
justjared.comMatt Damon got some new ink recently, and it’s a tribute to his late father Kent. The 52-year-old star’s tattoo artist Winterstone showed off the tattoo in a video.
He also revealed that Matt – who he described as “an idol” of his – returned the favor and tattooed him! Winterstone explained the meaning behind Matt‘s tattoo and captured the moment the actor became an artist on social media. Check out Matt Damon’s new tattoo inside… Matt‘s new tattoo is the word “Nomad.” It is located on his arm above a compass rose tattoo with an eye in the center.
Here’s where the family connection comes in: His dad had a boat named Nomad. The word is also their last name spelled backwards. Winterstone‘s post also captured the moment Matt finished tattooing him. “His first time tattooing,” he wrote in the caption.
What did he get? “A small universe… aka a dot!” Sounds like a foolproof tattoo for a first-time artist if you ask us. Kent passed away in 2017 at the age of 74. Matt has been busy promoting his new film AIR lately.
