Massive inferno rips through Scots bowling club as firefighters battle blaze

Firefighters are currently battling a massive blaze that is ripping its way through a Scots bowling club. Crews were scrambled to Claremont Gardens in Milngavie, East Dunbartonshire, after receiving the alarm at 7.14am today.

Six fire engines have been sent to tackle the inferno, which remains ongoing. Dramatic images from the incident show the fire ripping through the premises - with the club's roof and windows completely destroyed.

Thick pockets of smoke can be seen billowing into the sky near local residences as firefighters work to put flames out. Officers from Police Scotland have also attended the scene to assist firefighters with the ongoing incident.

The cause of the blaze is currently unknown. Meanwhile, local residents have been asked asked to ensure all windows and doors remain shut due to smoke in the atmosphere, particularly in the direction of Ellangown Road.
