A huge police dispersal order is in place after a paramedic was pushed off his bike by one of a group of up to 150 people “causing disruption” in Manchester.

The incident happened in the city centre at around 3.45pm today on Sunday (May 7). Police say the paramedic was pushed off his bike by one of a large group “engaging in anti-social behaviour" but he was left uninjured.

The group then made their way over the tram tracks at Exchange Square and caused disruption before entering the Arndale Centre, a spokesman for GMP said.
