Legendary actor Dick Van Dyke was all smiles during a lunch date with his wife Arlene Silver. The couple were seen in Malibu on Wednesday after Dick enjoyed a session at the gym, with him sporting a grey jumper with the words "spoonful of sugar" across it, paying homage to his time on the 1964 Disney film Mary Poppins.

At 96, the actor is 46 years older than his former makeup artist wife, 50, and the pair celebrated 10 happy years of marriage back in February.

Dick has previously admitted he was concerned about marrying Arlene because of their age gap. "But no one ever took that attitude." Dick, who is only an Oscar away from elite EGOT status, starred in Mary Poppins as Bert alongside Julie Andrews who played the title role.

A Spoonful of Sugar, performed by Julie, was the theme song for the enormously popular film. Dick also starred in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968), The Dick Van Dyke Show (1961-1968) and, most recently, Mary Poppins Returns (2018).
