Cast your mind back 25 years to 13 May 1995 and you’ll remember the world-famous Eurovision competition was taking place right here in Ireland.
Dublin was buzzing with excitement, RTÉ favourite Mary Kennedy included as she had landed herself the coveted presenting gig for the 40th Eurovision Song Contest which was broadcast live from The Point.
It was unusual to see a lone presenter on the stage but chattering away in three languages to 200 million viewers, Mary made it seem easy.
Taking to the stage throughout the night, it was impossible to sense any nerves coming from the former Nationwide presenter, but it seems they had all kicked in the night before.
