Announcing the loss on his personal Twitter page on Thursday, 9 March, Homes Under the Hammer host Martin, who experienced a scare when he had emergency heart surgery last year, opened up on the loss of his dad Norman, who passed away at the age of 90.

Martin Roberts, 59, sobbed as he called on his 22,000 Instagram followers for their support after the death of his beloved father. The presenter said he was feeling "really alone and horrible" as he tried to come to terms with his heartbreaking loss. Addressing his followers, Martin said: "So, erm, I don't really know if I should be posting this video or not, but I guess people deal with things in different ways.
