Line Of Duty and Vigil star Martin Compston has revealed his dream role would be to play Scots born Irish republican leader James Connolly.
On a trip to Ireland Martin visited the prison where James was executed and said he's now so fascinated by his story, he'd love to play him.
James was born in Edinburgh in 1868 and was one of the leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising on 24 April 1916 when members of the Irish Volunteers and the Citizen's Army occupied buildings in Dublin and proclaimed an Irish Republic.Greenock born Martin reckons being Scottish makes him the ideal actor to play the socialist who opposed British rule in Ireland and was shot by a firing squad at Kilmainham Gaol.He told RTE show Ask Me Anything about his visit saying: "It
