Joe Otterson TV Reporter Marlon Wayans is set to guest star on the CBS comedy “Poppa’s House” alongside his brother Damon Wayans and his nephew Damon Wayans Jr.
The Wayans family has a long history of appearing in each other’s projects in addition to working on numerous films and television shows together.
The role also reunites Marlon with “Poppa’s House” star Essence Atkins, who previously co-starred with him in the NBC sitcom “Marlon” for two seasons. “Poppa’s House” debuted on CBS in October.
Per the official series description, Damon Wayans stars in the multi-cam comedy as “legendary talk radio host and happily divorced Poppa who has his point of view challenged at work when a new female co-host (Atkins) is hired, and at home where he finds himself still parenting his adult son (Damon Wayans Jr,), a brilliant dreamer who is trying to pursue his passion while being a responsible father and husband.” Marlon will play Melvin, Poppa’s brother, who is described as “a bit of a ne’er do well who comes to visit the family with a new business idea.
