Mark Wright's grandad Eddie has tragically passed away just weeks after the former TOWIE star announced he's set to become a dad.The sad news of his beloved grandfather's passing came on Monday, with Eddie "surrounded by his loved ones".

He had been battling health issues following a fall last summer that led to him being hospitalised.This heartbreaking news comes shortly after Mark and wife Michelle Keegan revealed they're expecting their first child together this year, as well as marking their 10th wedding anniversary.

A statement shared with Mail Online about Eddie's death at the age of 92 read: "Mark's grandad passed away last night. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones." Back in June, Mark's dad, Mark Snr., revealed that Eddie had been hospitalised as they celebrated Father's Day.

He posted a photo of Eddie in a vehicle and wrote: "Happy Father's Day to the best - unfortunately in hospital at the moment after a fall a couple of days ago, but dad I'm on my way up to see you now.", reports the Mirror.
