Avengers star Mark Ruffalo is open to headlining a stand-alone film for his character the Hulk.
The actor behind the conflicted superhero – aka Dr. Bruce Banner, who has appeared in a handful of Marvel blockbusters, is eager to explore the role again, even though a Hulk film has been attempted twice before with Ed Norton and Eric Bana as the not-so-jolly green giant. “There’s an idea that I think could be really interesting,” Ruffalo tells Variety. “We’ve never really followed him into his life.
He’s always kind of off on the side. He’s like the (Shakespeare characters) Rosencrantz and Guildenstern of the Avengers.
