Spending long hours working together on set, it’s no wonder romance blossoms between Coronation Street co-stars. Audrey Roberts actress Sue Nicholls met her husband Mark Eden on the Cobbles set in the 1980s.

Sue, 77, fell in love with Mark, who played one of Corrie’s most despised villains in Alan Bradley, in the eighties. Mark appeared as Bradley in the soap until 1989, finally being killed off when he was hit by a tram in an infamous episode.

The couple had been married since 1993. Mark died on New Years Day following a battle with Alzheimer’s. A statement to the PA news agency from his agent said: "We are very sad to announce the death of actor Mark Eden. "He died peacefully, in hospital, earlier today, 1st Jan 2021.
