Mariah Carey (born March 27, 1969 or 1970) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and record producer. Referred to as the "Songbird Supreme" by Guinness World Records, she is noted for her five-octave vocal range, melismatic singing style, and signature use of the whistle register.
She rose to fame in 1990 after signing to Columbia Records and releasing her eponymous debut album, which topped the U.S. Billboard 200 for eleven consecutive weeks. Soon after, Carey became the only artist ever to have their first five singles reach number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, from "Vision of Love" to "Emotions".

As October turned to November, the Queen of Christmas took to social media to reveal her annual “It’s Time” video. This time around, she channeled the iconic Morticia Addams before pulling out her Santa suit for a jovial transformation! She explained that they weren’t supposed to be “an announcement” at first. “People would say, ‘Hey, when is it OK to put our lights up and put our tree up?’ and ‘When do you do it?’ People would just ask me that because I guess they thought I was very Christmassy,” she recalled.
While she herself isn’t decorating on November 1, Mariah stressed that the holidays were still a special time for her. “It’s something that I look forward to all year,” she said. “Maybe people think it’s something that I put on, but it’s really my favorite time of year.” If you missed it, Mariah recently shared advice for anyone who is struggling with fame.
