Marcus Fraser opens up on tough Celtic lessons as defender targets more St Mirren success

Now 29, Fraser has been made vice-captain of St Mirren and is looking ahead to his ninth Premiership campaign on the spin. The no-nonsense defender enjoyed League Cup, Scottish Challenge Cup and Championship success with the Staggies during his lengthy spell at Dingwall.And last season he played a key role as the Saints finished in the top six for the first time since the split was introduced to the Scottish top flight.Looking back, Fraser is certain the lessons he learned as a youngster at Parkhead played a big part in helping him go on to enjoy such a lengthy spell in the top tier.
He’s determined to make sure the Paisley club’s young Buddies don’t miss their shot this season as the club set out on what they hope will be another memorable Premiership campaign.
Fraser told the Paisley Daily Express: “It definitely has gone quickly. I always say to the younger boys to knuckle down because your career goes by fast.“I’m enjoying it more than ever just now.
