John Hartson says the Celtic pursuit of Ryan Fraser is sensible - but knows a climbdown from Premier League wages could be a factor.
The Newcastle United winger is reported to be in the sights of Brendan Rodgers over a move to Parkhead this summer. He has already brought in Marco Tilio and Yang Hyun-jun to his flanks department but has also lost key man Jota, with Fraser currently in Toon exile and training with the development squad, having not played a competitive game since October 2022.
Speaking on Go Radio, Hartson said that Fraser has shown his quality but his salary is something to take into account despite Newcastle appearing keen to sell: "He is a good player and has not been played regularly of late.
I am not too sure if he is in Howe's plans and they are looking at the top end market now, Newcastle. Ryan Fraser is a talent and joining Celtic would be a very wise move as he has a lot to prove as well.
