Marc Anthony Reunites With La India in Soulful Tribute to Salsa Music for Latin Grammys

Thania Garcia It was battle of the highest vocal belts for Marc Anthony‘s tribute to salsa music at the Latin Grammys on Thursday night.

Anthony, who executive produced the special segment for the 25th annual ceremony, also performed throughout its entirety alongside salsa icons like Tito Nieves, Oscar D’León, Grupo Niche.

Fresh faces Luis Figueroa and Christian Alicea joined the tribute early on, sharing the stage with Nieve for a performance of “De Mí Enamórate.” The tribute also included a medley of Niche’s “Una Aventura,” Frankie Ruiz’s “Tú Me Vuelves Loco” and De Léon’s “Llorarás.” The cherry on top was La India joining Anthony to sing their 1994 hit “Vivir Lo Nuestro” for the first time in 29 years.

Karol G, Carlos Vives and other Latin music giants covered their mouths in shock. Variety broke the news of Anthony’s involvement in a salsa tribute at the Latin Grammys.
