Plans for 159 homes in two blocks - with a rooftop terrace - between the Bridgewater Canal and Manchester Ship Canal, have been approved.
The scheme for the area which has been named Manchester Waters submitted by land and property giant Peel, was given the go-ahead by Tafford council.
The one-, two- and three- bedroom apartments will be split across two buildings, overlooking both historic canals, and all the homes will have a waterfront view.
As part of the project, Peel Waters will make a financial contribution equivalent to 20 per cent affordable housing in Trafford and further contributions will be made towards green spaces and schools in the local area.
