The Premier League has confirmed Paul Tierney will officiate the first Manchester derby of the season at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Tierney has officiated five Premier League matches so far this season, most recently in charge Wolverhampton Wanderers' 2-1 victory over AFC Bournemouth last weekend.
In midweek, the Wigan-born official dropped into the Championship for the first time this campaign to referee Stoke City's 1-0 win over Leeds United.
In total, Tierney has been the man in the middle for seven matches and has dished out 32 yellow cards, averaging out at four and a half bookings per fixture.
