Erik ten Hag tried Jadon Sancho at centre-forward and Tyrell Malacia at right-back in Manchester United's win against Sheriff Tiraspol as he wanted to test out two tactical experiments for the rest of the season.

Sancho drifted infield to score the opening goal of the night in Moldova and ended the game as the striker, once Cristiano Ronaldo had been replaced by Anthony Elanga.

Malacia also switched to right-back for the final 20 minutes, once Luke Shaw had replaced Diogo Dalot with United cruising to a 2-0 win in the Europa League.
