After defeat to Arsenal, the United boss was asked why Sancho was absent from the squad which travelled to North London. Ten Hag responded by saying the winger had not performed well enough in training to warrant a place.
Sancho took exception to these comments and responded on social media. He claimed the comments were 'untrue' and he had been made a 'scapegoat' at Old Trafford.
Rumours suggested Sancho could leave the club this month with Steven Gerrard's Al Ettifaq linked but a deal didn't materialise.
