Manchester United Supporters' Trust respond to takeover reports with fan ownership request

The Manchester United Supporters' Trust has urged any potential new owner of Manchester United to promise a degree of fan ownership.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe expressed his desire to purchase United from the Glazers in public for the first time on Wednesday. Ratcliffe, 69, is estimated to be worth £10.8billion and he supported the club growing up after being born in Failsworth, Greater Manchester.

United fans want the Glazers to sell the club after years of declining standards and increased debt. Although Ratcliffe, who founded Ineos chemicals group, would be a credible buyer, MUST has explained any change in ownership must be right.
