Manchester United star Marcus Rashford pays surprise visit to US football academy

Manchester United player of the season Marcus Rashford made a surprise appearance at the IMG Academy football camp in Florida, taking part in several coaching sessions over two days.

The attacker's visit was held across Tuesday and Wednesday, where he also hosted a Q&A session as well as book signings and meet-and-greets. “Sharing my journey and vision for the next generation is at the heart of my mission of who I am, and I was honoured to get the opportunity to do that with campers at IMG Academy,” said Rashford. “I want to help create an environment for kids today that promotes confidence and shows them they can accomplish things they never thought possible, and through IMG Academy, I was able to give them a head start on how to win their future.” ALSO READ: Rashford named in Europa League Team of the Season Youngsters were given the opportunity to play with, and be coached by, Rashford who also partook in instructional gameplay exercises as part of an invaluable experience for those in attendance.

Rashford’s work off the pitch, as well as on it, has helped the 25-year-old become a globally known name with his work on child food poverty gaining recognition.

The striker received an MBE and an honorary doctorate from the University of Manchester in 2021. IMG Academy camps offer educational opportunities alongside sport for those aged between 10 and 18 with more than 40,000 college coaches signed up to its network.
