Lindelof wasn't included in the squad for the Community Shield or the 1-0 victory against Fulham on Friday night and last appeared in the final pre-season friendly of the USA tour.
The Swedish international, who has entered the final year of his contract, started against Liverpool in South Carolina on August 4 and was substituted at half-time with a knock.
