Reports on Saturday claim United want Coman, 24, if they fail to secure the signing of Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, who want in excess of €100million for the England international.
The MEN previously reported United are prepared to turn to fall-back targets if they fail to qualify for the Champions League next season, which effectively scuppered a deal for Sancho last year.
United turned to fall-back option Daniel James. However, United are still intent on signing Sancho, 20, nearly three years after they attempted to prise him from Manchester City.
