Premier League rivals have once again rejected the opportunity to make five subs this season. Last week it was revealed that the top clubs in the Premier League had floated the idea of allowing five subs to be made this season in an effort to combat fixture congestion.After voting to allow it after the coronavirus pandemic last season, Premier League clubs opted to scrap the rule for the upcoming season.At a vote in July, the idea of having five subs in 2020/21 was voted down 13-7 by clubs, with many arguing it benefited wealthier sides with deeper squads.Yet the idea was put on the table again this week ahead of the new season with some clubs hoping that others who had initially voted against the plan had undergone a change of heart.
