In October 2023, Lady Cathy Ferguson died at their home in Cheshire, leaving behind the ex-Manchester United manager. Alex, aged 82, met his future wife back in 1964 while both were employed at a typewriter factory.

The couple tied the knot two years later in 1966. He has often spoken fondly of her, calling her 'the key figure throughout my career'.

After a trophy-laden football management path, Sir Alex has now aligned with a charity leveraging music as solace for those dealing with dementia, reports the Express.
