Manchester United give update on Tahith Chong's loan at Championship club Birmingham City

Tahith Chong has returned to Birmingham City to continue his loan move after briefly returning to Manchester United. Chong, 22, ruptured a thigh tendon that required surgery in early November and he underwent treatment back at United.

The forward has now completed his rehabilitation and has returned to Birmingham for the remainder of the season. Chong had started in 13 out of a possible 14 games in the Championship prior to his injury, having impressed Birmingham boss Lee Bowyer.

Chong recorded two assists across those run of games and he's set to play a key role as Birmingham attempt to fight relegation. "We have missed him [Chong] badly," Bowyer said last month. "Just what he brings us in the final third.

He gets us up the pitch and creates so many problems. We have missed that type of player, for sure, and his work-rate. "I can’t say anything negative about him, it’s only positive, he is a great lad and I cannot wait for him to come back." Chong will join up with United teammate Teden Mengi at St.
