Manchester United fans have pleaded with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to give Dean Henderson a chance to earn the number one spot at Old Trafford next season after another costly error from David de Gea.

The Spaniard's form has looked a shadow of his former self in recent months and allowed Everton to take the lead at Goodison Park within five minutes.

De Gea received a back pass and took far too long to release the ball before finally rifling the ball at the onrushing Dominic Calvert-Lewin which resulted in the opening goal.

His error was the seventh that directly led to an opposition goal since the start of last season, the joint-most in the Premier League alongside Martin Dubravka, Bernd Leno and Jordan Pickford.
