Manchester United legend Gary Neville has leapt to Ravel Morrison’s defence after he was criticised by Wayne Rooney for not working hard enough to reach his potential.
Writing in his latest Sunday Times column, United’s all-time top scorer said that Morrison was a more talented youngster than Paul Pogba but he didn’t have the work ethic of Neville.
But Neville has defended Morrison, now 27 and on loan at Middlesbrough from Sheffield United. "I used to commentate on MUTV and the academy games for a number of years whilst I was playing at United,” said Neville on Sky Sports' The Football Show. “That year they won the Youth Cup, I commentated on many of those games where Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Ravel Morrison were all playing.
