Manchester United defender Sonny Aljofree has sealed a deadline day move to Accrington Stanley. The centre-back, 19, has joined the League Two side on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
The centre-back was recently identified as a player who would benefit from a loan spell away this season. Aljofree, who is originally from Plymouth, signed his first professional contract at Old Trafford in May 2023.
He was a regular fixture for the club's Under-21s last season, making 19 appearances in the Premier League 2. He now believes the time is right for him to try and establish himself as a first-team regular in league football. Aljofree told Accrington's club website: "I have done my first session at Accrington this morning (Friday) and I have settled in well, I am buzzing to be with the lads.
