There is currently a buzz within Manchester United about youngster Toby Collyer. The casual observer might think Collyer didn't pull up trees in academy games, but he's been considered a leading prospect at Carrington since he signed from Brighton in 2022.
A source said this summer that Erik ten Hag 'really likes' Collyer and another source said he records 'freakish' running stats in training that are only bettered by Bruno Fernandes.
Collyer has gone under the radar in the last two years but that's beginning to change. The midfielder made his Premier League debut in dramatic circumstances last weekend when replacing Casemiro at half-time and there should be more top-flight appearances to come. Collyer enjoyed a promising summer and there have been signs along the way that he can earn a prominent first-team role. He was named as a substitute eight times last season and Ten Hag was spotted in conversation with the 20-year-old after the FA Cup final.
