Harry Maguire's retrial for charges of assault and attempted bribery after a family holiday in Greece has finally been set for February 7.

Maguire was convicted of the charges, which also included resisting arrest, in August 2020 and handed a suspended jail sentence of 21 months and 10 days after a trial on the island of Syros.

He immediately launched an appeal, which automatically led to the conviction being quashed and a new trial held at a higher court, but a date for the retrial has only just been set and will take place more than three-and-a-half years after the original conviction.

The Manchester United defender was arrested during a family holiday on the Greek island of Mykonos at the end of the 2019/20 season.
