Manchester United have confirmed Erik ten Hag will remain in charge of the club after a period of uncertainty around his future.

The Manchester Evening News understands that after the conclusion of INEOS' season review, United have decided Ten Hag is the best choice to take the club forward.

Club sources have indicated constructive talks with Ten Hag on the outcome of the review have been held. The Dutchman has now entered negotiations over a contract extension and can begin preparation for the 2024/25 season, which will be his third in Manchester.

Ten Hag has entered the final year of his contract and the feeling was United would have to enter fresh contract talks with the 53-year-old if they decided to keep him.
