Music venues in Manchester are at risk of being lost forever if more is not done to support them, an industry organisation has warned.
A campaign has been launched to try to save gig venues and concert halls around the country from closing for good as a result of the lockdown.
Across the UK, 556 venues have been identified as being at risk of 'being closed permanently' by the Music Venues Trust, which is behind the Save Our Venues scheme.
Jay Taylor, usually a promoter for the Northern Quarter's Night & Day Cafe and the Music Venue Trust's regional coordinator for the north west, said: "The support that the government has handed out is still not enough to keep grassroots music venues open.
