Rail passengers have been warned not to travel to or from Manchester Piccadilly amid major transport disruption. A trespasser on the railway around the Levenshulme area has caused all lines to be blocked.
Police are at the scene. All stations between Manchester Airport and Manchester Piccadilly are closed. The disruption is expected to continue until 9pm.

Disbelief as a 'quiet murder' probe unfolds in retirement flats A spokesperson for Manchester Piccadilly confirmed the trespasser has been detained, saying: "The trespasser has been detained by the British Transport Police, which has been established through a Gold Command Incident report.
Trains are being recovered, which means there will be delays and disruption." Trains due to call at these stations are being delayed by up to 90 minutes or cancelled.
