Manchester man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after car hits pedestrians at Blackpool Pier

A red Peugeot was driven at a small group of people on the promenade in the early hours of Saturday morning (July 24). Police were called at 5.25am and found that the vehicle had left the scene.

It was followed at a distance to prevent a pursuit, Lancashire Police said. As officers began tactics to bring the vehicle to a controlled stop, it came to a standstill on a residential street - where it was abandoned.
