The Manchester City club shop will already be bracing to stock up on Erling Haaland shirts after the Premier League champions confirmed they have reached a deal in principle for the striker.
The 21-year-old has been hotly linked with a move to the Etihad for most of the season. Now, City have announced that, once personal terms have been finalised with the player, Haaland will arrive on July 1.
The forward has worn several shirt numbers throughout his career, including No.17, No.23 and No.30. However, it seems his preferred choice is the No.9 jersey, donning it on both his Borussia Dortmund and Norway kits. But more may become available if current players leave the club this summer. Cristiano Ronaldo was given special dispensation to nab the No.7 Manchester United jersey from Edinson Cavani last year in August, but a player must usually wear the same number all season.
