Several flights from Manchester Airport to Ireland have been cancelled today as Storm Ashely hits the UK. Aer Lingus has been forced to cancel services to the Irish capital Dublin and Belfast in Northern Ireland as strong gusts batter parts of the north west of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
In a statement on its website Aer Lingus warned of ‘potential disruption’ to flights to and from Ireland today, October 20. The airline said impacted passengers would be informed of any changes and urged passengers to check the status of their flight.
The Met Office has issued amber and yellow warnings for wind covering Scotland, north west England and Northern Ireland, as well as some parts of Wales.
