Airport bosses have apologised as passengers faced delays on 'Manic Monday'. Holidaymakers using Manchester Airport were met with queues of up to 90 minutes through security on the last day of the Easter bank holiday.
Long queues were also reported by passengers flying with airline TUI, who also apologised for delays caused by 'staff shortages'.
Lucie Spencer, said her TUI flight was held for more than an hour as passengers experienced 'frustrating' and 'annoying' hold-ups.
The 25-year-old salon owner from Lancashire said: "Queues were very long, we were in Terminal 2. They moved consistently but slowly.
