Toyota are recalling 50,000 cars after safety concerns which could result in a crash. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has named the Corolla Cross Hybrid as the specific make experiencing some problems with its breaking system, reports the Mirror.Owners have been urged to visit their local Toyota dealership to check whether they are at risk.
Staff will then run updates on the vehicles' programs to ensure it is road worthy. The NHTSA further explained Toyota workers will update the the skid control ECU software for free.
It explained: "In certain situations, during brake application when turning a corner, a driver may temporarily experience a hard brake pedal that can cause the stopping distance to be more than expected.
This can increase the risk of a crash." According to the alert, the recall only includes cars made from June 2022 to September 2024.
