if that’s scrubbing toilets or packing boxes." Stephen Prescott, 35, who has 28 previous convictions, said that without being given an opportunity in life, he would 'rather be sat in prison for three meals a day'.

He told a judge: "The amount of money the taxpayer pays to keep people like me locked up... I don’t want it no more." Prescott said the criminal system is ‘home’ for him and his 'safety net'.
