A man who deliberately set his partner on fire after he soaked her in petrol has been accused of murder after she passed away 21 years later.
Jacqueline Kirk's injuries were so severe that they prevented her from being able to be safely operated on, a court heard. Jacqueline was 41 at the time when she was left with 35 per cent burns after her ex-partner Steven Craig viciously set her alight in 1998.
She miraculously survived the horrific attack, after receiving 14 operations, and battled through the extreme medical issues she was suffering from, the Mirror reports.
The cold hearted thug was convicted of inflicting grievous bodily harm after he stood trial in 2000 and he was subsequently sentenced to jail.
