A US man who chopped up his parents and boiled their heads after learning they would no longer pay his bills has been jailed for life.

Joel Guy Jr, 32, of Tennessee, plotted how to kill and dismember his mum and dad during a Thanksgiving holiday weekend. His mum's head was found severed in a pot of boiling water on a stove, at the couple's Hardin Valley home, with the court hearing that he left his parents' body parts to liquefy into a "diabolical stew of human remains".

Both parents' limbs were severed after they were knifed multiple times by their son in his murder plot to cash in on $500,000 (£387,000) in life insurance benefits, Knox News reports.
