Manchester United are set to sign Edinson Cavan for £200,000-a-week – but it is £80,000 each week more than rivals Real Madrid were asked for.

The Uruguayan, whose contract as PSG ended over the summer, is set for an “imminent” move to Old Trafford which will keep him at the club for two years.

With 200 goals in more than 300 games for Les Parisiens, the 33-year-old will be signing on for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side in a deal worth £200,000-a-week.

But a deal for the Uruguayan would still see United lose out on a weekly basis to Madrid. According to Marca , the Spanish side were “offered” Cavani in a deal worth £120,000-a-week in a two-year contract in September.
