Bruno Fernandes

Bruno Miguel Borges Fernandes (born 8 September 1994) is a Portuguese footballer who plays for Primeira Liga club Sporting CP and the Portugal national team as a midfielder. Fernandes started his career at Serie B side Novara Calcio and soon featured for Udinese and Sampdoria in Serie A.

In 2017, he signed with Sporting CP where he established himself as one of the best players in the Primeira Liga. He was named the LPFP Primeira Liga Player of the Year in both 2017–18 and 2018–19. In the latter season, he also helped Sporting win the Taça de Portugal. A senior international since 2017, Fernandes represented Portugal at the 2016 Summer Olympics and 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Man Utd eye 'best under-19s left-back in Europe' who shares agent with Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United are keeping tabs on Sporting Lisbon star Nuno Mendes, who has been dubbed the "best under-19s left-back in Europe." Mendes is yet to make his debut for the first team, but is highly-rated in Portugal and has attracted the attention of some top teams.

The youngster also shares agent Miguel Pinho with Bruno Fernandes, who completed a £67million move to Manchester United in the January transfer window.

According to Portuguese publication Record, via Sport Witness, United were in talks to sign the young left-back when they landed Fernandes in January.

With the summer transfer window on the horizon, the Red Devils have reportedly rekindled their interest, and are back in touch with Sporting Lisbon.
