Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer were left astounded by the decision to award West Ham United the game-winning penalty against Manchester United.
The Hammers added to Erik ten Hag's woes with a dramatic 2-1 victory over the Red Devils at the London Stadium. However, Jarrod Bowen's decisive goal from the penalty spot was the result of one of the most contentious VAR decisions the Premier League has ever witnessed.
Danny Ings darted into a group of United defenders to reach a loose ball and collided with Matthijs de Ligt. After being prompted by VAR's Michael Oliver to review the incident on the monitor, referee David Coote believed an aghast De Ligt had brought the former Southampton forward down in the penalty area.
After the game, Shearer and Lineker both agreed the penalty call was a ridiculous decision.
