Manchester United sent a scout to watch Viktor Gyokeres in action for Sweden on Saturday. The 26-year-old, who has scored 23 goals in 18 matches for Sporting CP this season, continued his red-hot form as he netted for his country against Slovakia in the Nations League.
Gyokeres has been linked with a move to Old Trafford and speculation has increased since Ruben Amorim swapped Sporting for Manchester last week.
The Swede has been earmarked as a top target for Amorim and United could attempt to sign him, with Sporting chief Frederico Varandas hinting at a possible summer departure.
In the meantime, United sent Sergio Souza - one of their top Scandinavian talent spotters - to Stockholm to watch him play for Sweden during their 2-1 win over Slovakia, according to The Sun.
